Hearts in the Ice

I have two of the worlds most typical boys. They fight.  They wrestle.  They like cars, superheroes and Legos.  Mostly they like to wrestle and not always with each other.

A couple days ago, I stepped outside to this image pictured below, right on our doorstep.  I was taking my oldest to school and luckily snapped a picture of these hearts because they melted by the time I returned home.

Later that same day, I could tell my little guy was bored.  We don’t watch TV during the day and his Hot Wheel cars just weren’t entertaining enough.  I was happily sipping my tea, reading some Rumi when he came at me.  He likes to sit on your lap, wrap his arms around your neck, squish his nose to your nose so you both talk funny if you need to talk and when you have no where to go he’ll say, “Do you wanna fight?”

My answer depends on the day.

After a bunch of romantic words and hearts in the ice, fighting just didn’t seem logical.

“Noooo.”  I told him.

Our faces were so close he looked like a Cyclops when he responded, “Do you wanna love?”

“Yes, yes I do.”

That’s what life is all about.  Loving and being loved in return.  My little man and I spent some time cuddling, while I read Rumi out loud.  He, of course, didn’t last very long before he was off to his Legos but I enjoyed the time regardless.

Make some cuddle time today, you deserve it!

Much Love,

Jes xoxo
