Changing I to WE

It seemed in the beginning of this “new normal” (which I am refusing to get on board with) there was a split between people. There were people that thought this was the end of the world and people that thought this was a media ploy.

As the seriousness of the Corona virus caused the economy to stop there became another split; the people counting the cases and the people thinking about healing.

I was, of course, part of the later.

My husband, of course, part of the former.

And there there’s yoga.

One of the most incredible things that has come out of this pandemic is people showcasing and sharing their talents for FREE. If you look you’ll find free yoga, virtual workouts, spin classes, spiritual classes and teacher trainings. It’s pretty amazing. There are even Facebook groups set up from YMCA teachers that host live classes. I have taken advantage of all of it!

THANK YOU!

Seane Corn is one of my favorite yoga teachers. I love how she incorporates prayer into the yoga sun salutations, each movement becomes a dedication to someone or thing and it’s really beautiful. A couple weeks ago, during her live Instagram yoga class, she asked all three thousand + of us to sit in meditation and imagine this healing light come down from the heavens and blanket the Earth.

For that five minutes the world felt different.

When it comes down to it energy is energy. It isn’t created or destroyed, it just is.

The concern with energy is it follows thoughts. If there are millions of people following the numbers thinking this virus will take be the end of all of us then it will.

We DESPERATELY need to change our thoughts. To put this pandemic in the history books as a time where we learned how to work together as a world to heal.

If not for us, the lucky ones, but for the ones stuck in a dangerous home situation.

Being a bartender can kind of be like being a priest, people confess a LOT of stuff to you. It doesn’t need to be a Sunday, you don’t need a confession booth, hell you don’t even need to be on a first name basis but if they need someone to talk to and you’re there the confessions spill out.

I thought it had everything to do with the drink intake…then I went to Home Depot.

A customer came out of nowhere and started confessing how difficult this time has been on her and her husband. While her confession was very G rated and more so irritation from lack of space, it got me thinking about the other people that are in bad situations with NO where to go.

Kids AND adults stuck in abusive households, without anywhere to escape to. While cuts, bruises and broken bones will heal what about the emotional distress or potentially worse cases than being slapped around.

I think the aftermath of this isolation could potentially be SO much worse than catching the virus.

SO PLEASE, join me in a meditation, everyday at noon, sending healing energy out blanketing the Earth. Let’s have a shift in perception thinking of a healing place where normal is the normal we were used to and not this isolation.

Some people are stuck in their darkest hour in this dark time, be the light. If you know someone that struggled before reach out to them. If you don’t know anyone that is affected know that even if they are silent they exist and send some healing energy out.

The world needs it.

When we replace I with WE even illness becomes wellness.

Be well, namaste,

Jes xoxo
