Change comes from Challenge

Before I had kids, I was tone but not really fit because I liked to drink and didn’t eat clean.  I ran for cardio and some times lifted tiny dumbbells.  Because I always choose salad over pizza I thought I was more fit than most.  After I had kids, nursing helped me get to an even lower pre-pregancy weight.  I thought I was on a roll to the best ME I could be.  That was 3 years ago.  My accountability partner (the lovely Namaste Mari) kicked my butt into gear and I now weight what I weighted pre-pregnancy but it’s not anywhere close to where I feel I should be.

Honestly, I’m not even sure what my goals are.  All I want is to wear a bikini and not feel one bit insecure.  Isn’t that every girls wish, though?

Because I believe things happen for a reason and that you are right where you’re supposed to be at this very moment I found a new thing to keep me busy.  Actually I didn’t find it, my accountability partner found it BUT I came into contact with her by fate.  It’s the Oxygen Challenge through Oxygen Magazine.  Two trainers, Erin Stern and Amanda Latona, have designed 90 day meal plans and workouts.  You pick your trainer, stick to your plan and viola new you!  OxygenChallenge

I had trouble picking a trainer.  Each of these women are SO distinguished, I liked both of their videos.  I was originally going to pick Erin because my accountability partner chose Amanda.  After I did Amanda’s and Erin’s sample workout in Oxygen Magazine I wanted Amanda.  I was sore for days after her bi/tri workout.  At the last minute I choose both (because that was an option).  After checking out the meal plans and some additional feedback from people in the weight training business I decided to go with Erin.  She allowed lots of eggs for breakfast and I have eggs every day.

Today was day one of the workouts.  It wasn’t so bad, but i’m always more sore the next day.  It’s a little weird that they gave us the meal plans early but the workouts were given the early morning day off challenge start.  The workouts also start on Monday, but the challenge started Wednesday…so my partner-in-crime came up with a brilliant plan.  We’re skipping the cardio sessions, since we already did those this week, and we’re going to do the workouts, to get us caught up so we can start week 2 on Monday.  I’m so excited about it!

I think the hardest part (besides the nutrition) is going to be getting together with family.  They eat things that are not approved by the plans and I will not be able to partake.  My mom called me tonight actually and asked us to stay for dinner tomorrow.  I told them about the challenge yesterday and luckily for me, she remembered and asked me if the things she is making is ok for me to eat.  Unfortunately for me, I will have to skip out.  It’s unfortunate because both of my parents are excellent cooks.  It’s 90 days though.  I can make it…I think…

Day two tomorrow!

Much Love,

Jes xoxo
